A jolt of reality for the boys today. Losing 60-7 against a fantastic Bridgend Athletic. They were to big, strong and quick for our boys. The weather was awful, but that had no real bearing on the result. It wasn't all bad. The scrum was outstanding, dominating a much bigger pack. We were competitive at the breakdown and our line out worked well. Iwan Horley managed to score a try against the odds, which Evan Ford converted. Some of the scramble defence and tackles saved us from total destruction. I'm glad that was our first game as it has given the boys a massive wake up call. They realise that I wasn't joking about where we were after a lack of training throughout the summer. Man of the match was Ethan Berry after a gritty performance and fantastic lineout work. Onwards and upwards We know what we need to do.
